"SMD" o Simian Mobile Disco es un duo Inglés formado por James Ford y James Anthony Shaw, que a finales de los 90 estudiaban biologia en la universidad de Manchester.
SU fama se debe a remezclas de artistas como Muse, Klaxons, The Go! Team, Björk y Air entre otros. En 2006 lanzan el underground hit "Hustler", destacando la colaboración vocal de Char Johnson.
Musicalmente Simian Mobile Disco, saben hacer pistas muy estilizadas con la instrumentacion minima asociandolos ellos mismos con su gancho particular (vocal o instrumental)como sucede con la remezcla "Whoo! Alright, Yeah...Uh Huh" de "the rapture"
SMD realizó su primer acto en vivo en mayo en el Reino Unido para promover su último álbum.
"I Believe" su último single colabora en el videojuego FIFA 2008.
